Goed Gebekt Groot Gevleugeld

Graduation project by Esther Haamke and Michelle van Mil (2010). ‘Goed Gebekt Groot Gevleugeld’ is a fashion show, including live music and visuals. Inspired by the ‘dance of seduction’/courtship which characterize the exotic paradise birds. Courtship is not something practiced only by birds or other animals, humans implement the same strategy. GGGG shows of 6 characters; macho behavior, dominance, desire, jealousy, aggression and sex. The live visuals and music respond to the choreography and the clothing of the models. Together they tell the story of courtship.

Besides telling a story about courtship by humans and/or birds, this show was another opportunity for Esther & Michelle to show the world illustration nowadays is more than just ‘flat paperwork’. An illustrator is a story-teller, no matter what material or way you show your audience. The GGGG show created an entire experience for the audience, followed by drinks & party!

Goed Gebekt Groot Gevleugeld was held twice June 17th 2010 at KOP, Breda. Every show gave access to 75 people, including 15 VIP’s.
